{"id":326,"date":"2019-02-25T16:18:54","date_gmt":"2019-02-25T20:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/flintandsteelworks.com\/?p=326"},"modified":"2019-02-25T16:31:25","modified_gmt":"2019-02-25T20:31:25","slug":"niagara-glen-nature-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flintandsteelworks.com\/index.php\/2019\/02\/25\/niagara-glen-nature-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Niagara Glen Nature Center"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I feel lucky to live in Ontario where getting out into\nnature is relatively easy if you have the will.&nbsp;\nIn the fall we decided to hike the Niagara Gorge, the weekend we chose\nwas unseasonably warm, so it was a good idea to have an early start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/flintandsteelworks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_9757-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-327\" width=\"297\" height=\"396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flintandsteelworks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_9757-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/flintandsteelworks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_9757-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/flintandsteelworks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_9757.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Niagara River is a short 1-hour drive from my home, and parking was easily accessible and numerous photo ops available of the river below before our hike even started.\u00a0 Once at the bottom of the stairs we took the trail to the right and wound our way down to the rivers edge, this trail was a good trial for our young puppy who we are conditioning for longer hikes.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nThe trail offers lots of shade and is rocky so best to wear proper hiking shoes and remember to bring water for the pupper!&nbsp; While hiking this trail, there are off-shoots that are not the actual trail so heads up on that, but no real danger of getting too far off if paying attention.&nbsp; At one point of the hike there was an eddy along the shore, that found others swimming and fishing so good to know that is available also.&nbsp;
